The category widget in the dashboard keeps spinning if the users does not have access to that service catalog category
Login to an Orlando OOB instance Go to an OOB [sc_category] item, example:'Software' here: /sc_category.do?sys_id=2809952237b1300054b6a3549dbe5dd4 Go to 'available for' tabs and click 'edit' and select 'roles : admin' Go to a dashboard which can be viewed by ITIL users. example: CMDB Dashboard - CMDB View Add a widget > 'catalog categories' > 'software' > 'category details' to that Dashboard Impersonate an ITIL user and go to 'CMDB Dashboard - CMDB View' Dashboard Check the 'Software' widget to see that it keeps spinning Expected: 'Not Authorized' should be displayed instead of an endless loading icon. 'Not Authorized' is displayed if that same user goes to service catalog here: /nav_to.do?uri=%2Fcom.glideapp.servicecatalog_category_view.do%3Fv%3D1%26sysparm_parent%3D2809952237b1300054b6a3549dbe5dd4
Will not Fix. The Catalogs and Catalog Categories widgets are to be used on Home pages, but are no more supported on the Dashboards on the platform. Customers are expected to migrate to service portal for better experience.
