Doing a group by on a document Id type field on a list view doesn't return all the results and the number shown in list navigation is also incorrect if the number of results to be returned is greater than 100.
Hop on to the instance. 2. Navigate to a table that has large amount of data & has a document id type field as one of the columns. For customer, this issue was seen on wf_context table, also tested on sys_history_set table. OOB instances don't usually have that much data on these tables so tested this on sys_variable_value table. 3. Go to sys_variable_value.list 4. Note the number of records on the table. 5. Right click on the Id column and do a group by 6. Note that the list now shows 100 records whereas the top and bottom of the liost shows a small number like 1 to 12 of 12 or some other small number. 7. There are several records not shown on this list as is evident from the total records on the table and the sum of records shows for each group. This is unexpected behavior. If the same tests are done on a table with fewer records, the group by works as expected and shows all the records.
After carefully considering the severity and frequency of the issue, and the cost and risk of attempting a fix, it has been decided to not address this issue in any current or near future releases. We do not make this decision lightly, and we apologise for any inconvenience.
