The earliest recollection of this bug is traced back to PAN-OS 10.1.6-h6 - May 06, 2026. This bug is fixed in PAN-OS versions 10.1.6-h6, 10.2.3. Fixed an issue on firewalls in high availability (HA) active/passive configurations where _ha_d_session_msgbuf overflowed on the passive firewall during an upgrade, which caused the firewall to enter a non-functional state.
