The earliest recollection of this bug is traced back to PAN-OS 8.1.16 - July 22, 2025. This bug is fixed in PAN-OS versions 8.1.16, 9.1.4. Added a mechanism to detect corrupted or incorrect formats received on dataplane CPU. Such packets are dropped, and a counter, pkt_recv_bad_group , is incremented.
