The earliest recollection of this bug is traced back to PAN-OS 8.1 - July 22, 2025. This bug is fixed in PAN-OS versions 8.1.4-h2. Fixed an issue on a PA-3200 Series firewall running PAN-OS 8.1.4 in an HA configuration where the HA1-B (backup) port did not come up as expected. ( PA-3200 Series firewalls running PAN-OS 8.1.4 in an HA configuration only ) The physical link for the HA1-B (backup) port does not function as expected, which means you cannot use this port as an HA1 backup interface when running PAN-OS 8.1.4.
