The earliest recollection of this bug is traced back to PAN-OS 8.1.6 - July 22, 2025. This bug is fixed in PAN-OS versions 8.1.6. Fixed an issue on Panorama M-Series and virtual appliances where the Decrypt Mirror ( Network Interfaces Ethernet Interface Type ) template setting did not Push to a firewall. The system MAC address of the aggregate interface is the same on both the active and the passive devices, causing some packets to be sent incorrectly to the passive device. This is causing the AE interface on the active firewall to not come up.
