HPE StoreVirtual 4000 and HPE P4000 G2 Storage products, and HPE StoreVirtual VSA and HPE LeftHand P4000 Virtual SAN Appliance Software products running Multipathing Extension Module (MEM) versions 12.0 or 12.6.0.14 may experience the Purple Screen of Death (PSOD).
The error reported is: #PF Exception 14 in world 33262: jumpstart IP 0x418000ece14f addr 0x4109755c8278.
Scope
The following platforms may experience a PSOD when running MEM versions 12.0 or 12.6.0.14:
HPE StoreVirtual 4000 Storage
HPE P4000 G2 SAN Solutions
HPE StoreVirtual VSA Software
HPE LeftHand P4000 Virtual SAN Appliance Software
Resolution
HPE StoreVirtual Engineering recently re-released MEM 12.6. Download and install version 12.6.0.20.
NOTE: The ONLY appropriate path policy for MEM 12.6 is HPE_PSP_LH. Do NOT use "Round Robin" or Fixed, as they may result in a PSOD.
To confirm the MEM version installed on your system, log into the storage system using SSH, and run the following command: ~ # esxcli software vib list | grep "hpe"
NOTE: You must first uninstall MEM 12.6.0.14 before installing 12.6.0.20.
