The HPE D6000 Disk Enclosure began the End-of-Life (EOL) process on December 2016. This process consists of multiple stages described in this notice. This notice is provided to help you understand the various stages of the EOL process and impacts on ordering, product availability and other important dates. Product Description and Definitions The HPE D6000 Disk Enclosure was initially introduced in 2012. The HPE D6000 Disk Enclosure is a 5U, 6Gb/s Large Form Factor (LFF) external storage expansion JBOD for HP ProLiant servers and Bladesystems. The HPE D6000 support includes a wide range of 6Gb/s SAS and Mid-Line SAS HDDs with rotational speeds varying from 7200rpm to 15,000rpm. The 12Gb/s (6Gb/s internal, 12Gb/s external) HPE D6020 Enclosure was announced June 2016 as the replacement for the D6000 Disk Enclosure. End of Life and Lifecycle Event Definitions End-of-Life Announcement (EOL-A): Refers to the EOL announcement date and accompanying documents. For example, a customer notice, pertaining to the EOL process from EOL-A through to the End Of Support Life (EOSL) period. EOL: Used generically to describe the whole process from EOL to EOSL. The EOL date is also the beginning of the EOL process and defines the date from which other phases will begin to track from. Discontinuance (DISC): Orders after this date will be accepted/fulfilled, based on factory inventory. Obsolescence (OBSO): Last day to purchase a SKU (hardware or software), acceptance of order subject to factory availability prior to obsolescence (OBSO). At the OBSO date, SKUs are physically removed from the HPE Price Lists and ordering systems. End of Support Life (EOSL): HPE Support for the associated said products ends on this date. Typically five years past the OBSO date. HPE D6000 Disk Enclosure EOL Details HPE is announcing the EOL of the HPE D6000 Disk Enclosure and bundle SKUs, beginning 1 December 2016. These same SKUs will transition to DISC on 28 February 2017. Orders placed after this date will be accepted/fulfilled based on factory inventory levels. These HPE D6000 Disk Enclosure and bundle SKUs are anticipated to be OBSO on 31 March 2017, at which point they will be removed from the HPE Price Lists and ordering systems. Hard Drives track to their own separate EOL lifecycle dates. End of Support Life (EOSL) will extend until five years after the final HPE D6000 Disk Enclosure SKU OBSO period has been declared. Service SKUs used as Field Replacement Units (FRUs) will remain orderable to support customer service contracts until five years after the final HPE D6000 Disk Enclosure SKU shipment (OBSO). Orders placed on HPE D6000 Disk Enclosure and bundle SKUs will be accepted/fulfilled based on factory inventory levels. As factory inventory levels near zero, these SKÚ³ will transition to OBSO and will be removed from the HPE Price Lists and ordering systems. HPE encourages you to transition to the HPE D6020 Enclosure as soon as possible to avoid product availability issues. Spare parts and product support will continue to be available for a 5-year period after the official declaration of OBSO of the HPE D6000 Disk Enclosure. SKU List The following tables show the HPE D6000 Disk Enclosure and bundle SKUs going EOL beginning 1 December 2016 and progressing into the DISC phase of 28 February 2017. Orders placed after the DISC date will still be processed, based on factory availability:
