Hewlett Packard Enterprise 3PAR OS version 3.2.2 MU4 has implemented a change that limits the remote snapshot name to 32 characters. This limitation prevents HPE 3PAR Recovery Manager Software products from creating remote copy snapshots. This issue is observed only with HPE 3PAR StoreServ arrays running HPE 3PAR OS version 3.2.2 MU4. The affected products, scenarios wherein the desired outcome is unsuccessful, and error messages, are described as follows. HPE 3PAR Recovery Manager Software for Microsoft Exchange Remote copy snapshots are unsuccessful with only asynchronous streaming configurations. "Error Message: 3PARVSS5054: ERROR: CLI: Snap name too long for volume "<vvname>" must be less than 32 characters." HPE 3PAR Recovery Manager Software for Microsoft Hyper-V Remote copy snapshot are unsuccessful for both synchronous and asynchronous streaming configurations. "Error Message: 3PARVSS5054: ERROR: CLI: Snap name too long for volume "<vvname>" must be less than 32 characters." HPE 3PAR Recovery Manager Software for Oracle Remote copy snapshot are unsuccessful only with asynchronous streaming configuration. "Snap name too long for volume "<vvname>" must be less than 32 characters." "3PAR1353: ERROR: Failed to create coordinated snapshots for Remote Copy group "<rcgroupname>"."
This issue affects the following products when the HPE 3PAR StoreServ is running OS version 3.2.2 MU4. HPE 3PAR Recovery Manager Software for Microsoft Exchange HPE 3PAR Recovery Manager Software for Microsoft Hyper-V HPE 3PAR Recovery Manager Software for Oracle
