Executing the "parstatus" command on an HPE Integrity Superdome X server Onboard Administrator (OA) displays the nPartition State/RunState.
The HPE Integrity Superdome X OA is unable to directly fetch this nPartition State/RunState from an nPartition when the nPartition is running a standard, out-of-the-box version of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) or SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) because there is missing agent function.
As a result, State/RunState will continue to display as "Active/OSBOOT" even though the nParition is "Active/UP." This is a cosmetic issue only; however, if for any reason, it is preferred to power off the partition from the OA, the OA "poweroff partition" command will not work because the OA believes the OS is still booting:

Scope
Any HPE Integrity Superdome X server running a RHEL or SLES Operating System.
Resolution
Install SMX, part of the WBEM package, as follows. This will enable the OA to successfully obtain the boot completion signal, causing the State/RunState to indicated Active/UP as expected and the "poweroff partition" OA command to function:

Select “RHEL” or “SUSE”
Select the appropriate OS version
Download “SMX” software (the following is an example of SUSE 12) and install it. (hp-smx-3.2.0-59.sles12.x86_64.rpm (2.1M)
