When a hard drive connected to an HP H220 or HP H221 Host Bus Adapter fails on an HPE ProLiant server with any version of the HPE Integrated Lights-Out 4 (iLO 4) firmware, the Integrated Management Log (IML) displays the incorrect slot. For example, when a hard drive fails under Slot 1, IML incorrectly display slot 0. In addition, the OS messages log will display the incorrect slot.
Any HPE ProLiant server with any version of the iLO 4 firmware and configured with an HP H220 or HP H221 Host Bus Adapter.
iLO 4 firmware version 2.50 displays the slot as expected in the IML. The latest version of the iLO 4 firmware is available as follows: Click the following link: http://www.hpe.com/support/hpesc Enter a product name (e.g., "iLO") in the text field under Enter a Product Name or Number . Click Go . Select the appropriate product model from the Results list (if prompted). Click the "drivers, software & firmware" hyperlink under the Download Options tab. Select the system's specific operating system from the Operating Systems dropdown menu. Click the category Firmware - Lights-Out Management . Select the latest release of HPE Integrate Lights-Out 4 firmware version 2.50 (or later). Click Download . As a workaround, use HP Insight Diagnostics to test the hard drive. The HP Insight Diagnostics Software is available as follows: Click the following link: http://h20566.www2.hpe.com/portal/site/hpsc Enter a product name (e.g., "DL380 Gen9") in the text field under Enter a Product Name or Number. Click Go . Select the appropriate product model from the Results list (if prompted). Click the "drivers, software & firmware" hyperlink under the Download Options tab. Select the system's specific operating system from the Operating Systems dropdown menu. Click the category Software - System Management . Select the latest release of the Insight Diagnostics Online Edition . Click Download .
