On certain HPE Uninterruptible Power Systems (UPS) listed in the Scope section below, Japanese characters in the "UPS Location" Field of the UPS Network Module are limited to ten (10), regardless if the characters are two-byte or half-size. Japanese characters after the tenth character will be truncated from this field.
Scope
Any of the following HP Uninterruptible Power Systems (UPS) running HPE UPS Network Module AF465A HPUNM Firmware Versions 1.04.001 or 1.05.001:
HPE R/T2200 G4 NA/JP Uninterruptible Power System
HPE R/T3000 G4 High Voltage INTL Uninterruptible Power System
HPE R/T3000 G4 High Voltage NA/JP Uninterruptible Power System
HPE R/T3000 G4 Low Voltage NA/JP Uninterruptible Power System
HPE R1500 G4 INTL Uninterruptible Power System
HPE R1500 G4 JP/TW Uninterruptible Power System
HPE R1500 G4 NA Uninterruptible Power System
HPE R5000 Uninterruptible Power Systems
HPE R7000 Uninterruptible Power Systems
Resolution
This issue was resolved in HPE UPS Network Module firmware update version 1.07.003; however, this version is no longer supported or available for download. Instead, go to the
HPE Support Center UPS Network Module firmware
download page to obtain the 1.12.002 firmware version (or later) that includes the fix
