Info
Upcoming changes to the HPE website and the firmware update process may cause intermittent loss of access to the legacy firmware update site. This is a known issue and is being worked on.
Additional changes will be incurred, as described below:
The firmware update repository will be moved from the public FTP site to a secure and higher capacity system. The access to this system will require an active warranty for the system being updated. The firmware updates for accessing this new system are included in HP Intelligent Provisioning Version 1.63 for Gen8 systems and HP Intelligent Provisioning Version 2.50 for Gen9 systems. Users working with older versions will eventually stop seeing updates to the system firmware until updated to a version that is aware of the new system.
Updates to HP Intelligent Provisioning will continue to be posted to the legacy FTP site and will be available for all installed versions.
Scope
Any HP ProLiant Gen8 and ProLiant Gen9 server running with HP Intelligent Provisioning.
Resolution
A future release of HP Intelligent Provisioning with support for the new repository will correct this issue. A resolution for the HPE website issue is currently being developed. This advisory will be updated as further information becomes available.
