Original document release
In HPE Intelligent Provisioning (IP) 2.20 (or earlier), the Enter key must be pressed at the boot menu to update IP on Gen9 servers when the default UEFI boot mode is set.
When Legacy boot mode is set, IP will boot and run automatically as long as boot is not interrupted by pressing any key during the initial boot menu.
If UEFI boot mode is enabled, manual intervention is required in order to update IP.
Additionally, if there is not an HPE Integrated Lights-Out 4 (iLO 4) Advanced License installed, the user will not have the option to access the boot menu and press the Enter key.
Scope
Any ProLiant Gen9 series server with UEFI boot mode capability and attempting to update HPE Intelligent Provisioning (IP).
Resolution
Intelligent Provisioning 2.61 will correct this issue.
