On HPE ProLiant Gen12 systems running Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10 or SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 15 Service Pack 7, an unexpected warning message may be observed during driver installation, as shown below.grep: warning: stray \ before /The issue originates from grep 3.11, included in RHEL10 and SLES15 SP7. Earlier distribution versions are not impacted. A fix has been implemented by the OS partners and is available in newer releases.The warning is emitted by dracut during initramfs regeneration triggered by the installation of a non-distribution kernel module that contains a driver or kernel code. This does not affect system operation or functionality.
Any HPE ProLiant Compute Gen12 module in the Scope section below and running Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10 or SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 15 Service Pack 7.
