A false critical alert message may be encountered during a normal HPE Synergy enclosure configuration or refresh operation:"Issue: Asynchronous notifications from the frame link module are not being received.Resolution: Verify the enclosure and frame link modules are reachable and properly functioning."This alert will appear during enclosure refresh/configuration operations (typically during hardware addition, removal, or maintenance). All hardware components (enclosure, Frame Link Modules (FLM)) will be functioning correctly. The network connectivity between HPE OneView and the enclosure will be operational. There will be no actual loss from the FLM event notifications or enclosure monitoring functionality. In addition, the enclosure configuration will complete successfully despite the alert. This is a software timing issue within HPE OneView, not a hardware or infrastructure issue. The Frame Link Module and all messaging infrastructure operate correctly. The events are sent and delivered successfully. However, OneView's synchronous workflow prevents timely consumption of these confirmation events, causing a false timeout and subsequently an alert.
Any HPE OneView version 11.01 to HPE OneView 11.20.
In most cases, this alert is a false positive. No customer action is required if the following conditions are true:Enclosure hardware is functioning normally.Frame Link Modules are reachable and operational. The alert clears automatically after the active FLM module in the affected enclosure is reset. If the alert is present, reset the active FLM module in the HPE OneView User Interface by performing the following steps:Go to HPE OneView -> Servers -> Enclosures and select the affected enclosure. From the Actions menu, select "Reset Link Module" and the active module. Then pressYes, reset. After the FLM modules perform a failover, the locked alert should be cleared.Note: If it does not clear, and further assistance is needed with this issue, contact HPE Customer Support by contactingyour local country HPE Customer Supportor logging a case via theHPE Support Center. This issue will be addressed in a future release of HPE OneView. This advisory will be updated when more information is available.
