Enabling an HPE Compute Ops Management (COM) connection will not be possible if a proxy is not already configured for an HPE OneView 11.10 appliance. When attempting to change the settings to enable COM, the following error message will appear in the HPE OneView User Interface:"Unable to connect to HPE to generate an appliance ID"This will occur under the following conditions:A newly deployed OneView 11.10 Virtual Machine (VM) or HPE Synergy Composer 2ORAn appliance was recently upgraded to OneView 11.10 and Compute Ops Management is being enabled for the first timeANDa proxy is not configured on OneView's Settings menuNOTE: This issue will not occur if Compute Ops Management was enabled prior to the upgrade to OneView 11.10.
A Virtual Machine or HPE Synergy Composer 2 on HPE OneView 11.10 with HPE Compute Ops Management (COM).
This issue will be fixed in a future release of HPE OneView. This advisory will be updated as more information becomes available.As a workaround, select one of the following options:Configure an HTTP or HTTPS proxy before attempting to enable the "Check for Updates" setting.ORBefore enabling Compute Ops Management, enable the "Check for Updates" by performing the following steps:Navigate to Settings -> Updates.Click on theActionsbutton -> Edit.Set the toggle on the "Check for updates" to "Enabled:"Set the frequency to "Manual."ClickOK.Wait one minute.Proceed to enable Compute Ops Management.
