HPE Cray XD225v / HPE Cray XD295v systems configured with Turin processors with BIOS version 5.40 (or later) "AGESA 1.0.0.4 (Patch B)" are capable of 6400MT/s memory speeds.By default these nodes will run at max 6000MT/s for all memory, even if DIMMs are capable of 6400MT/s. DIMMs capable of running at 6400MT/s must be manually configured to run at that higher speed.This Customer Advisory provides instructions to run the memory at 6400MT/s.

Prework:Ensure Turin CPU "AMD EPYC 9XX5X" is installed.Ensure the BIOS version v5.40 (or later).Ensure the installed DIMMs are capable of 6400MT/sThis can be checked in "System Inventory -> Memory Controller".DIMMs capable of 6400MT/s will have "6400" in the AllowedSpeeds MHz column.Manual BIOS steps:Press F9 to enter "Setup" during boot.Navigate to "Advanced" along the top row.Navigate to "AMD CBS".Navigate to "UMC Common Options".Navigate to "DDR Timing Configuration".There will be a page warning against possible issues with overclocking memory, you must scroll down and click "accept".Navigate to "Memory Target Speed".
