On an HPE ProLiant Compute XD685 server configured with either of the HPE InfiniBand CX8 network adapters with an HPE InfiniBand XDR Auxiliary Card listed in the Scope section below; the Preboot Execution Environment (PXE) boot will not be available for the HPE InfiniBand CX8 network adapter with the HPE InfiniBand XDR Auxiliary Card when both options are installed in any slot pair other than slots 7 and 8. The HPE InfiniBand CX8 network adapter will not appear in the system configuration menus "BIOS/Platform Configuration (RBSU)," unless it is installed in slots 7 and 8.The HPE InfiniBand CX8 network adapter with the HPE InfiniBand XDR Auxiliary Card will function at full performance in any valid adjacent PCIe slot pair in the XD685 system.
Any HPE ProLiant Compute XD685 server configured with either of the following HPE InfiniBand CX8 network adapters with an HPE InfiniBand XDR PCIe Gen6 x16 Multi Host/Socket Direct Auxiliary Card with 250mm MCIO Cable Kit (P81264-H21):HPE InfiniBand XDR/Ethernet 2x400GbE 1-port OSFP PCIe6 x16 HHHL CX8 Crypto Adapter (P79114-H21)HPE InfiniBand XDR400/Ethernet 400GbE 2-port QSFP112 PCIe6 x16 HHHL CX8 Crypto Adapter (P79115-H21)Note:This issue only affects HPE InfiniBand CX8 network adapters.
If Preboot Execution Environment (PXE) boot is required, configured/install the affected network adapters in slots 7 and 8.
