When Integrated Lights-Out 5 (iLO 5) is onboarded to HPE OneView and the firmware update is initiated on any HPE Synergy 480 Gen10 compute module, iLO 5 may remain in a waiting state, the AMS status becomes unavailable, and the firmware update stops and displays the following message:Error will be displayed as:A new firmware baseline has been applied on this server. OneView is waiting for detecting the operating system and the driver inventory details before proceeding with the firmware and drivers updateWhen this occurs, the firmware update via HPE OneView does not complete.
Any HPE Synergy 480 Gen10, HPE Synergy 480 Gen10 Plus, Synergy 480 Gen11 compute module with SUSE Linux Enterprise Server SP7, Windows Server 2025, Ubuntu as the Host OS with iLO 5 firmware v3.17 (or later) or iLO 6 firmware v1.74 (or later).
When this occurs, reset iLO 5 and retry the operation.iLO 5 can be reset by performing the following in the iLO 5 web interfaceClick Information in the navigation tree, and then click the Diagnostics tab.Click Reset.iLO prompts you to confirm the request.If the server is in the Power On Self-Test (POST) process, iLO that warns that a reset may cause unexpected behavior.
