On a number of HPE ProLiant or Synergy Gen12 servers, when the system is configured with 6th Generation Intel Xeon Gold Scalable Processors XCC and configured with two DIMMs per CPU, the following DIMM logs will be seen in the Integrated Management Log (IML) after updating to System ROM version 1.60:Unsupported DIMM Configuration Detected - Processor # DIMM 7 violates DIMM population rules. (Major Code:00000017, Minor Code:00000016).Unsupported DIMM Configuration Detected - Processor # DIMM 10 violates DIMM population rules. (Major Code:00000017, Minor Code:00000016).The DIMM population on one or more processors results in a memory configuration that is not validated. This may result in non-optimal memory performance or other unexpected behavior.
Any HPE ProLiant or Synergy Gen12 server, when the system is configured with 6th Generation Intel Xeon Gold Scalable Processors XCC and configured with two DIMMs Per CPU and after updating to System ROM 1.60.
This issue has been addressed with System ROM 1.62 (or later):Click the following link:Hewlett Packard Enterprise Support CenterEnter a product name (e.g.,ProLiant Compute DL320 Gen12") in "Find Products and Downloads" search field.When the product appears, click the "DRIVERS AND SOFTWARE" tab near the top of the page.Click the Product name.Click the "BIOS" tab.Locate and select the applicable version of the System ROM (or later).Click the Download button.Note: To ensure that you have selected the latest version of the firmware/driver, click the Revision History tab to check if a new version of the firmware/driver is available.
