On any HPE platform running any Linux operating system and configured with any of the HPE Intel E810-based network adapters with firmware version 4.70 or version 4.71 and with Out-of-Box (OOB) drivers listed in the Scope section below; EEPROM checksum errors and link failures may be experienced when the Out-of-Box (OOB) driver is reloaded in a loop, or when the Out-of-Box (OOB) driver is reloaded when reboot cycles are performed. When this issue occurs, a link failure of the network adapter can be experienced and the network adapter will disappear from the operating system, and an error message similar to the following can be found in the kernel log:"Bad EEPROM checksum detected, err -5, please update your NVM"This issue occurs due to an inability of firmware versions "4.70" and "4.71" to handle the driver and the Baseboard Management Controller (BMC) command simultaneously.
