HPE Compute Scale-up Server 3200 server may boot with multiple CPU cores de-configured after the complex firmware is updated to version 1.60.88. Due to a timing issue, during boot, the processors are unable to complete certain boot time procedures, causing AP_CPU_REDEZVOUS_FAIL events and eventually disable cores. As it is timing related, this occurs random/intermittent.A common error signature when this problem occurs isIntegrated Event Log (IEL):-----505881 2025-10-06 10:36:32Z SFW r001u01p0c00t0 0 *WARN (3) 0001000101000006 AP_CPU_RENDEZVOUS_FAIL [rack1/chassis_u1/cpu0/core1/thread0]505882 2025-10-06 10:36:32Z SFW r001u01p0c00t0 0 *WARN (3) 0005000101000006 AP_CPU_RENDEZVOUS_FAIL [rack1/chassis_u1/cpu0/core5/thread0]505883 2025-10-06 10:36:32Z SFW r001u01p0c00t0 0 *WARN (3) 000F000101000006 AP_CPU_RENDEZVOUS_FAIL [rack1/chassis_u1/cpu0/core15/thread0]505884 2025-10-06 10:36:32Z SFW r001u01p0c00t0 0 *WARN (3) 0017100101000006 AP_CPU_RENDEZVOUS_FAIL [rack1/chassis_u1/cpu0/core23/thread1]505885 2025-10-06 10:36:32Z SFW r001u01p0c00t0 0 *WARN (3) 0019000101000006 AP_CPU_RENDEZVOUS_FAIL [rack1/chassis_u1/cpu0/core25/thread0]Core Analysis Engine (CAE):-----RMC cli> show cae listIndex Date Time Id Category Par# Severity Summary Physical Location===== ========== ========= ==== =============== ==== ========310 2025-10-06 10:39:34Z 569 Processor 0 Fatal A core reported in as defective and was indicted rack1/chassis_u1/cpu3/core59309 2025-10-06 10:39:34Z 569 Processor 0 Fatal A core reported in as defective and was indicted rack1/chassis_u1/cpu3/core59308 2025-10-06 10:39:33Z 569 Processor 0 Fatal A core reported in as defective and was indicted rack1/chassis_u1/cpu3/core57307 2025-10-06 10:39:33Z 569 Processor 0 Fatal A core reported in as defective and was indicted rack1/chassis_u1/cpu3/core58306 2025-10-06 10:39:33Z 569 Processor 0 Fatal A core reported in as defective and was indicted rack1/chassis_u1/cpu3/core58
Any HPE Compute Scale-Up Server 3200 systems running complex firmware version 1.60.88.
To resolve this issue, update toHPE Compute Scale-up Server 3200 Firmware Bundle version 1.65.60(or later).HPE Compute Scale-up Server 3200 Firmware Bundle version 1.65.60 is a critical release and HPE strongly recommends customers to update their systems to this version at the earliest.If updating to 1.65.60 is not an option, acquitting the de-configured cores, then disabling Hyper Threading and rebooting the system can be used as a workaround.To disable Hyper Threading, refer to theHPE Compute Scale-up Server 3200 Configuration Guide
