Primary DP2 CPU might halt with halt code %5100, when one half of the mirrored volume becomes inaccessible. Though this defect existed since DP2 SPR T9053L03^BBR (L18.08 RVU), the probability of its occurrence increases with the installation of DP2 SPR T9053L03^BDB or its superseding SPRs. This Hotstuff details the conditions under which this problem occurs and the DP2 version that corrects this problem.A Primary DP2 CPU might halt with halt code %5100 when one half of the mirrored volume becomes inaccessible. This is a timing related issue between two DP2 PINs of the same volume and can occur when one of the Primary/Mirror disk pair for the volume becomes inaccessible while I/Os are in progress. When one half of a mirrored DP2 volume becomes inaccessible, one of the DP2 PINs detects this event and tries to set up the Revive environment. If another DP2 PIN which is performing a regular I/O tries to access this Revive environment before the first DP2 PIN completes its setup, it can lead to an internal inconsistency. This inconsistency causes a %5100 halt in the Primary DP2 CPU.Though this defect existed since DP2 version T9053L03^BBR (L18.08 RVU), the probability of its occurrence has increased since the DP2 version T9053L03^BDB. A code change in T9053L03^BDB increases the concurrency between the DP2 PINs and that in turn increases the chances of encountering this timing issue.Likelihood:Very unlikely - if DP2 version is older than T9053L03^BDB.Somewhat likely - if DP2 version is T9053L03^BDB or later.
