If an HPE ProLiant DL384 Gen12 server with System ROM Version 1.24 is updated to System ROM version 1.26, a "5440-error" message may be displayed and then the system cannot complete Power-On Self-Test (POST).
Any HPE ProLiant Compute DL384 Gen12 server in the configuration detailed above.
DO NOT USE System ROM version 1.26. Version 1.26 is being removed from the support center.A future version of the System ROM will prevent this issue from occurring. As a workaround until the updated System ROM is available, remain on System ROM version 1.24, or downgrade to System ROM version 1.24 if this issue has already occurred.ORTo download the System ROM version 1.24, perform the following steps:Click the following link:Hewlett Packard Enterprise Support CenterEnter a product name (e.g.,ProLiant DL384 Gen12) " in the text search field and wait for a list of Suggested Products to display. From the Suggested Products list displayed, identify the desired product and select it.Click the "DRIVERS AND SOFTWARE" tab near the top of the page for the selected product. From the "DRIVERS AND SOFTWARE" filter menus on the page:In the "Find in Drivers and Software' search box, enter "ProLiant DL384 Gen12 System ROM 1.24." Locate and select the applicable version of the System ROM (or later).Click the Download button.Note: To ensure that you have selected the latest version of the firmware/driver, click the Revision History tab to check if a new version of the firmware/driver is available. For more important information, review the Release Notes tab.This advisory will be updated when the updated version of the System ROM becomes available.
