When hard disk drives (HDDs) are connected by Redfish Device Enablement (RDE) controllers, such as Smart Array (SR) or MegaRAID (MR), some RDE drives may be discovered later, during the firmware update process, causing drives to only be detected intermittently. As a result, the firmware inventory remains incomplete. Some HDDs will not be selected for firmware updates during the firmware and driver update process in HPE OneView, HPE Compute Ops Management or HPE Compute Ops Management-OneView Edition. The drives will not appear under the OneView System Utilities; however, they will appear in the firmware inventory of HPE Integrated Lights-out (iLO) User Interface after the system boots into the operating system.
Any HPE Gen10 or Gen10 Plus Servers running HPE Integrated Lights-Out 5 (iLO 5) with Hard Disk Drives (HDDs) managed by HPE OneView or HPE Compute Ops Management-OneView Edition or HPE Compute Ops Management.
As a workaround for HPE ProLiant Gen10/Gen10 Plus Servers, perform one of the following options to update the firmware:Boot the server with the Service for ProLiant Pack (SPP) offlineORPerform a warm reboot of the server and try the update again via HPE Compute Ops Management or OneView (if offline)ORUse the Smart Update Tool (SUT) or manually via HPE Integrated Lights-Out (iLO) web interface after the server is online (PLDM)The issue will be addressed in a future release for HPE OneView, HPE Compute Ops Management-OneView Edition or HPE Compute Ops Management. This advisory will be updated when additional information becomes available
