One-Button Secure Erase (OBSE), including the sanitize function, does not function on drives installed with an HPE NS204i boot device running firmware version 1.2.14.1022.NOTE: There is no issue with firmware version 1.2.14.1018.
This advisory applies to servers with an HPE NS204i-d, an HPE NS204i-p, an HPE NS204i-u, or an HPE NS204i-u v2 Boot Device installed.
As a workaround, install HPE NS204i boot device firmware version 1.2.14.1018, and reboot and perform the following commands/actions for a sanitize erase:Look through the URIhttps://<iLO_IP>/redfish/v1/Systems/1/Storage, and check each device ID listed to get the device ID (for example, "DExxxxxx") of the HPE NS204i boot device.Send a POST request tohttps://<iLO_IP>/redfish/v1/Systems/1/Storage/<DeviceID>/Drives/0/Actions/ Actions/Storage.ResetToDefaultsto perform secure erase on the first drive.Send a POST request tohttps://<iLO_IP>/redfish/v1/Systems/1/Storage/<DeviceID>/Drives/0/Actions/Drive.SecureEraseto perform secure erase on the first drive.Send a POST request tohttps://<iLO_IP>/redfish/v1/Systems/1/Storage/<DeviceID>/Drives/1/Actions/Drive.SecureEraseto perform secure erase on the second drive.This document will be updated when more information becomes available.
