For any HPE Synergy 480 Gen11 or HPE Synergy 480 Gen12 compute module configured with an NS204i-d boot storage device, OneView may display the following message when attempting to apply a Server Profile: "Unable to apply a profile to the server hardware."
In the scenario described above, either of the following: HPE Synergy 480 Gen11 compute module running System ROM versions prior to 2.60, and configured with an HPE Synergy NS204i-d Gen11 NVMe boot storage device (P39568-B21). HPE Synergy 480 Gen12 compute module running System ROM versions prior to 1.46, and configured with an HPE Synergy NS204i-d v2 M.2 boot storage device (P68340-B21).
To avoid this issue, install either of the following: HPE Synergy 480 Gen11 compute module System ROM version 2.60 (or later). HPE Synergy 480 Gen12 compute module System ROM version 1.46 (or later). As a workaround, perform the following steps: 1. Disable the boot storage device under UEFI Boot Order Control. 2. Use OneView to apply the Server Profile. 3. Enable the boot storage device under UEFI Boot Order Control. To disable/enable the boot storage device: 1. During the compute module start-up sequence, press F9 to access System Utilities. 2. From the System Utilities menu, select "System Configuration" and then "BIOS/Platform Configuration (RBSU)". 3. Select "Boot Options", and then "UEFI Boot Settings". 4. Uncheck/check the boot storage device. 5. Save changes and exit RBSU.
