Auto-negotiation and link connectivity issues may occur on HPE platforms configured with any of the HPE NVIDIA/Mellanox-based network adapters listed in the Scope section below, when the network adapters are connected to upstream switches that are not supported by NVIDIA.To view the list of switches tested and supported by NVIDIA, refer to the "Validated and Supported Cables and Switches" section found in NVIDIA firmware release notes. As a workaround, disable the auto-negotiation by setting up "force speed/duplex" on both the network adapter and the upstream switch.In addition, if link issues or errors are still experienced, enable the recommended Forward Error Correction (FEC) mode.Note:FEC mode may depend on the speed and physical medium of the transceiver and/or cable used; for example, 25GBASE-SR, 50GBASE-SR, 100GBASE-SR2, etc. If there is no assurance that the Forward Error Correction (FEC) mode is supported, refer to the following document:802.3-2022 - IEEE Standard for EthernetExample:For the 25GBASE-SR transceiver type, the FEC mode should be RS-FEC. For additional information, refer to the 2022 edition of the "IEEE Standard 802.3-2022, IEEE Standard for Ethernet". According to Clause 108, the FEC mode should be RS-FEC for the "Physical Medium Dependent (PMD) sublayer and medium, type 25GBASE-SR".Important notes:If connectivity issues and/or errors are still experienced after setting "force speed/duplex" and configuring the supported Forward Error Correction (FEC) mode, perform the workaround using cables and/or transceivers and switches supported by NVIDIA.Refer to the NVIDIA firmware release notes for "Validated and Supported Cables and Switches".Make sure cables/transceivers are supported by HPE.
