HPE Smart Update Manager (SUM) Version 10.7.0 through Version 11.2.0 fails the deployment "winnowed from Install set" when selecting firmware with version prerequisite(s). This will be observed if the server is deployed with an SN1610E Emulex Host Bus Adapter on a Gen11 server.The following Deployment error message from HPE SUM will be shown, while attempting the firmware update:Additionally, the user will receive a Warning alert in HPE OneView under Server Profile stating, "The following firmware components are inconsistent with the specified firmware baseline: HPE SN1610E 32Gb 2p FC HBA."
Smart Update Manager (SUM) 10.7.0 through 11.2.0 present in SPP for Gen11 2024.04.00 through SPP 2025.01.00.This failure is not applicable in the following scenarios:If the Service Pack ProLiant for Gen11 is booted from the bootable SPP directly via Virtual Media mounted on the Server Console, the firmware update works as expected.If the updates are selected via Check for updates feature under HPE OneView using the same SPP, the update of the Host Bus Adapter works as expected.
This issue has been fixed in Smart Update Manager 12.0.0, included in Service Pack for HPE ProLiant Gen11Version 2025.03.00.00.
