HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen10 Plus server configured with an NS204i‑p x2 Lanes NVMe PCIe3 x8 OS Boot Device in PCIe slot 3.
HPE does not support the NS204i-p device in PCIe slot 3 when running a System ROM version earlier than 2.22. This is documented in in the ProLiant DL380 Gen10 Plus QuickSpecs. HPE recommends moving the card to slot 1, 2, 4, 7 or 8.HPE recommends moving the NS204i-p device to any of the supported PCIe slots, if this not possible, upgrade the server to System ROM v2.22 (or later) to avoid this issue. This issue has been fixed in APML (Advanced Platform Management) when the device is in Slot 3, as part of the System ROM.System ROM Flash Binary - HPE ProLiant DL360/DL380 Gen10 Plus (U46) Servers | HPE Support Center
