Upgrading the HPE Moonshot Chassis Management firmware from version 2.2-b30 to version 3.0-b63 or 4.0-b43 may cause the Moonshot 1500 Chassis Manager 2.0 module to become inaccessible. When this issue occurs, there is no indication that the firmware upgrade is ever completed, and the Chassis Manger 2.0 is prevented from rebooting and coming back online.The Chassis Manager User Interface will stay stalled in progress with the Loading message or will show no details about the upgrade being reported when navigating through the dashboard and its other screens.
HPE Moonshot 1500 Chassis 2.0 module and HPE Moonshot Chassis Management running firmware version 2.2-b30 is affected when upgrading the firmware to versions 3.0-b63 or 4.0-b43.
This issue is resolved for all Versions 4.0 of Moonshot CM2 firmware by following the following policies:Version CompatibilityDowngradeDowngrade directly from a 4.0 version (starting with 4.0-b44) to CM3 3.0-b68 is allowed.Downgrade directly from a 4.0 version (starting with 4.0-b44) to CM2 versions before CM2 3.0-b68 is blocked for downgrade.Downgrade directly from CM2 3.0-b68 to prior 3.0 or 2.3 versions is allowed.UpgradeUpgrade directly from CM2 2.0 versions to 4.0 versions is not supported.
