Info
A firmware update may fail because the same Synergy Service Pack (SSP) or Service Pack for ProLiant (SPP) is moved from an external to an internal repository, or from an internal to an external repository.
An alert message displays when performing a firmware update in HPE OneView, after the SSP or SPP has been moved from an external repository to an internal repository, or vice-versa.
In the example below, the firmware update operation is unable to update the following components on server {server_name}, HPE_SR_Gen10_6.22_A.fwpkg:
This issue will occur for firmware components that require an update to a prerequisite version before the final firmware version is installed (i.e., bunny-hop).
For example, an HPE Smart Array P204i-c SR Gen10 has firmware version 5.0 installed. Firmware version 5.61 is required to be installed before the final firmware version 6.22 is installed. When this issue occurs, OneView will try to update directly from version 5.0 to 6.22 without installing the prerequisite version 5.61 first.
The example below shows the version 6.22 being added to the list of firmware, instead of the intermediate version that contains version 5.61:
Scope
Any version of HPE OneView.
Resolution
This issue is resolved by updating Smart Update Manager (SUM) 10.8.0 or later. Any Synergy Service Pack (SSP) or Service Pack for ProLiant (SPP) created from using SUM 10.8.0 or later will not experience this issue.
Work around this issue by performing the steps below:
Remove all Synergy Service Pack (SSP) or Service Pack for ProLiant (SPP) instances from HPE OneView and from the internal repository.
Remove the external repository from OneView.
Add the external repository to OneView.
Add any SPP/SSPs that were removed.
