An HPE Virtual Connect SE 100Gb F32 Module or 40Gb F8 module for Synergy may lose link on all s-channels on downlinks when VmWare vSphere Distributed Switch transmits LLDP advertisements. The vDS switch settings that result in LLDP advertisements are "Advertise" or "Both."
Scope
Any HPE Virtual Connect SE 100Gb F32 Module or 40Gb F8 module for Synergy firmware version 2.6.0-1001 and prior.
Resolution
The issue is fixed in both the ESXi driver (the driver will not send the packet that causes the issue) AND in Virtual Connect SE 100Gb F32 Module firmware version 2.7.0 and Virtual Connect SE 40Gb F8 Module firmware version 1.9.3, available at either of the links below.
This issue has been addressed for the Virtual Connect SE 100Gb F32 Module and 40Gb F8 module in the 2024.07.03 Synergy Service Pack SY-2024.07.03 Z7550-97814:

As a workaround, configure the vSphere Distributed Switch to use the "Listen" setting.
