On the following HPE MR controllers and their firmware, the RAID1/5/6/10/50/60 array rebuild will not automatically start after a failed drive is replaced with a drive that was previously configured as JBOD on the same controller:HPE Smart Array P824i-p MR Gen10 controller with firmware version 24.23.0-0048HPE MR Gen10+ and Gen11 controllers with firmware version 52.22.3-4650 or earlierThe new drive will appear as a JBOD:In addition, the array will be "Degraded", and the disk will appear asMissing:

To prevent this issue, upgrade the HPE MR Gen10 Plus and Gen11 controllers to firmware version 52.24.3-4948 or later, and upgrade the HPE Smart Array P824i-p MR Gen10 controller to firmware version 24.23.0-0049 or later using the following links:HPE Smart Array P824i-p ControllerHPE MR Gen10 Plus ControllersHPE MR Gen11 ControllersIf the issue already occurred, then perform actions in the following order in the "Elements(s) Actions" section, on the right side of the HPE MR Storage Administrator (MRSA) window, to manually start the array rebuild on the replacement drive.In theDrives > JBODsection, select the replacement drive and clickMake Unconfigured Good. The replacement drive is now changed to "Unconfigured Good".In theDrives > Unconfigured Good Drivessection, select the replacement drive and clickAssign Dedicated Spare.The Arrays dialog will display.
