When PM1653 and PM1655 SAS4 Solid State Drives (SSDs) with firmware version HPD3 (or later) are installed with other SAS3 SSD drives behind a 24G expander, which is only used on the HPE Alletra Storage Server 4140, the drive firmware rate matching mechanism may drop the physical connection rate to 12G to match the 12G logical connection rate. Check the HPE SSA utility, Smart Storage Administrator, for details.
