When attempting to collect Netdump with ESXi Dump Collector, the Dump data is not sent to a target vCenter Server for any HPE platform running VMware ESXi 7.0, and configured with any of the HPE Intel-based network adapters with icen driver version 1.8.4.0 listed in the Scope section below. When the issue occurs, the following Purple Diagnostic Screen (PSOD) may be displayed: NetDump: FAILED: Couldn't attach to dump server at IP xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx Stopping Netdump If the dump data is correctly transferred, the message should be as follows: Finalized dump header (15/15 ) Netdump : Successful.

To resolve the issue, download and install the driver component: Intel icen Driver for VMware vSphere 7.0 Version 2023.10.00 Note: This issue is also resolved in the icen driver version 1.12.5.0-1OEM (or later) available at the VMware website: VMware ESXi 7.0U2 native icen 1.12.5.0 NIC Driver for Intel Ethernet Controllers E810-C family Workaround As a workaround, the user can rely on local dump of Purple Diagnostic Screen (PSOD) data.
