This notification applies to the HPE Parallel File System Storage Base Systems, Protocol Nodes, and Adapter Cards/NICs. Significant dates: End of Sale Announcement: April 2023 Last Time Buy: June 2023 Last Time Ship: July 2023 End of Support Life: July 2028 HPE plans to introduce two releases of PFSS per year with the latest version of Spectrum Scale through December, 2027. Critical fixes support through July 2028. Hardware Support: The HPE Parallel File Storage Server leveraged HPE ProLiant DL325 Servers and storage enclosures. These servers and enclosures will follow the software product lifecycles and will end in July of 2028. Key HPE Parallel File Storage Systems EOL Milestones HPE PFSS Product Discontinuation FAQ: 1) Will our organization have the option to deploy/upgrade new versions of Spectrum Scale ECE? Yes. HPE will offer updates to Spectrum Scale ECE until December 2027. Any updates after that will only be available if needed to resolve a critical bug. 2)How long will I be able to get support for my HPE Parallel File Storage Server? Organizations with valid support agreements will be able to receive the last release of software through December 2027 and critical bug fix support through July 2028. 3)How do I renew support for my HPE Parallel File Storage Server? Contact your HPE account team to renew support for HPE Parallel File Storage Server. You can renew support for your existing HPE Parallel File Storage Server as long as it is covered by an existing support contract that is still in force. Once the system falls out of support, no renewals will be allowed. 4)Can I buy a new/additional HPE Parallel File Storage Server or add on to my existing system? HPE will strive to have media drives (SSDs and HDDs) available for 2 years after the base product goes obsolete however this timing could be shortened due to circumstances outside HPE?s control. 5)What is a critical bug? HPE will determine what qualifies as a critical bug; examples include: System is down Data cannot be accessed Data corruption or loss 6)How do I get support for the server and storage hardware in my HPE Parallel File Storage System? The servers and storage are standard HPE offerings. Support plans for these components are controlled by the standard HPE server and storage plans. 7)Is Spectrum Scale ECE support going to be provided by HPE? HPE will continue to provide support for all customers of the HPE Parallel File Storage System. We will use HPE and IBM to address any HPE Parallel File Storage System issues. 8)Can I replace the HPE hardware as it ages with new HPE hardware and continue to use the software and support? No. The HPE Parallel File Storage System systems were built and qualified with the hardware that was deployed. We cannot support new hardware that has not been tested and qualified with the HPE Parallel File Storage System. 9)Will HPE give me credit for my PFSS Storage system if I move to ClusterStor? Yes. There are several options to help you make the decision to move from PFSS to ClusterStor. Please work with your account team and we will design a solution that best meets your needs.
