On any HPE servers running Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.0, 9.4, or SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 15 SP4, SP5, SP6, or Ubuntu Server 24.04 and using the Intel Virtual RAID on CPU (VROC), the RAID volume may fail to start the rebuild process on a rebuild capable RAID volume. When the RAID volume is reported as degraded because one of the drives fails or is removed, the rebuild process is not automatically started if a spare drive is available or the drive is reinserted into the same slot it was removed from. Data redundancy may be at risk. Therefore, rebuilding a new drive is recommended to maintain data redundancy. The following is an example image regarding this issue: The expected result occurs when the rebuild process is automatically started, “State : clean, degraded, recovering”
