HPE Systems Insight Manager (SIM) 7.6 will install from HP-UX 11.31 May 2022 (or later) media. The HPE SIM and database will also configure successfully with the "mxinitconfig -a" command. However, the HPE SIM web base interface, through URL http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:280, will not respond. During HPE SIM startup, a Java error is reported in var/opt/mx/logs/mxdomainmgr.0.log file: java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError: com/hp/swa/hpsim/FileDownloaderServlet : Unsupported major.minor version 52.0 This is observed when SwAssistant C.03.2109 with Java 8 (or later) is installed. HPE SIM 7.6 on HP-UX 11.31 May 2022 media is still using Java 7. HPE SIM depends on SwAssistant and Java versions cannot both be used. This issue impacts only new HPE SIM 7.6 installations from HP-UX 11.31 May 2022 and later media
Any HPE system running all of the following: HP-UX 11.31.2205 (or later) HPE SIM 7.6 Java80 1.8.0.23 (or later) SwAssistant C.03.2109 (or later)
The solution is to upgrade to HPE SIM 7.6 April 2021 HOTFIX (or later), which updates Java runtime to Java 8.
