Some HPE Gen10 Plus Intel-based servers with HPE Integrated Lights-Out 5 (iLO 5) have downgrade restrictions below iLO 5 firmware version 3.01.
Only the following iLO 5 firmware versions are supported for downgrade on these servers:
iLO 5 2.72b, 2.78b, 2.81b, 2.90b, 2.95b, 2.96b and 3.00b
If there is an attempt to downgrade to an unsupported version below iLO 5 firmware 3.01, the downgrade will fail and following iLO Event Log (IEL) will be generated:
Event Class: 0x23
Event Code: 0x0448
Message "Firmware update failed with reason: Installing this firmware version is not allowed. Check customer advisory for supported versions."

Any of the following HPE Gen10 Plus servers with iLO 5 firmware version 3.01:
ProLiant DL360 Gen10 Plus
ProLiant DL380 Gen10 Plus
ProLiant DL110 Gen10 Plus
ProLiant MicroServer V2 Gen10 Plus
Apollo 4200 Gen10 Plus
Edgeline e920 Gen10 Plus
Edgeline e920d Gen10 Plus
Edgeline e920t Gen10 Plus
Resolution
Only iLO 5 3.01 and above, iLO 5 2.72b, 2.78b, 2.81b, 2.90b, 2.95b, 2.96b and 3.00b versions are supported on these servers. Any unsupported version cannot be installed on these servers.
