When the active firmware version for any of the HPE Broadcom-based network adapters listed in the Scope section below, is equal to or later than firmware version 20.25.42, while performing a local firmware downgrade to firmware version 20.24.41 or prior versions using any HPE smart component (exe, rpm, or zip files) or using the Service Pack for ProLiant(SPP) under the corresponding Operating System; the active firmware of the device is displayed as "21.6.2" or a similar format, which is the MBA portion of the whole firmware family. When this occurs, the actual firmware version is not reflected correctly. This is a display issue which does not impact the functionality of firmware or the product. The following example shows the relationship between 20.25.42 and 21.6.2:The firmware version is reported correctly via "Firmware & OS Software" under iLO web User Interface:Additionally, if the firmware installation is locally performed using the Service Pack for ProLiant(SPP), though the actual firmware is newer, the "Selected button" will be displayed to remind users that this is an upgradeable item; therefore, when automatic updates are performed using the offline SPP operation, the firmware will be downgraded even if the active one is actually newer.Example of the correct firmware version displayed:Example of the incorrect firmware version displayed:Example of the automatic or interactive operation of Service Pack for ProLiant(SPP):
