This has been observed when the HPE ProLiant DL-series server is attached to an Aruba switch that is advertising TLV/LLDP "Management address." Switch Details output have the following when this occurs:Operating System Details:Switch DetailsAruba Switch - Aruba CX 8325 Switch SeriesFirmware Version: GL.10.10.1000Switch LLDP Global ConfigurationLLDP Enabled: : YesLLDP Transmit Interval : 8LLDP Hold Time Multiplier : 4LLDP Transmit Delay Interval : 2LLDP Reinit Time Interval : 2LLDP Trap Enabled : YesTLVs Advertised:Management Address <<<< this is the key value. If access to the switch is not readily available, review the diagnostics logs in HPE OneView from the "Settings -> "View diagnostics tools page". Search for the string "NetworkAdapters". If the search result finds a "JSON parse error: Invalid UTF-8 start byte..." as shown in image below, check the switch to verify if it is advertising "Management address:"
Any HPE ProLiant DL-series server with iLO 5 or iLO 6 managed by HPE OneView.
This is targeted to be resolved in a future version of iLO 5 and iLO 6.As a workaround, turn off lldp select-tlv management-address advertisement with the following command on the Aruba switch:no lldp select-tlv management-addressRECEIVE PROACTIVE UPDATES: Receive support alerts (such as Customer Advisories), as well as updates on drivers, software, firmware, and customer replaceable components, proactively in your e-mail through HPE Support Alerts.
