This Customer Notice provides general information pertaining to support of Oracle Linux and Ubuntu operating systems on HPE Synergy Compute Modules. The Oracle Linux and Ubuntu operating systems are Supported and Certified with in-distro drivers only. The HPE Synergy Service Packs (SSP) do not provide drivers, but they do provide the supported firmware recipe for the OS. Management Component Packs can be downloaded from https://downloads.linux.hpe.com/SDR/project/mcp/ or from https://support.hpe.com/ HPE Synergy 4820C and 6820C Converged Network Adapter support is limited to Ethernet only. No iSCSI or FCoE support is provided. FC attached storage array capability is not supported on Ubuntu 20.04 LTS Online FW update is not supported CEPH storage solution is not supported Synergy options that are not supported on Oracle Linux and Ubuntu OS: GPU modules HPE Synergy 16GB FC HBAs (3530C, 3830C) HPE Synergy 32GB FC HBAs (5330C, 5830C) on Ubuntu Server 20.04 LTS HPE Synergy 4610C, 6410C, 6810C Ethernet Adapters HPE Synergy 2820C, 3820C Converged Network Adapters HPE NS204i-d M.2 controllers Persistent memory Note : Starting with SSP 2025.05.01, HPE NS204i-d M.2 controllers will be support on Ubuntu for the HPE Synergy 480 Gen11 and HPE Synergy 480 Gen12 compute modules.
