During the installation of Ubuntu 22.04 on an HPE ProLiant RL300 Gen11 server, the
installer boots to a black screen when using the HPE Integrated Lights-Out (iLO) or VGA
console.
This occurs due to the Ubuntu 22.04 installation kernel.
This does not occur when installing via the serial console or iLO virtual serial port
(VSP).
When this occurs the following may be logged in the Integrated Management Log (IML)
and may be ignored:

15:25:46,4749: An uncorrectable error was detected (Processor: 1, Error Component: GIC,
Error Status: EC30000E, Error Address Low: 00040110, Error Address High: 80001001,

Scope
Any HPE ProLiant RL300 Gen11 using Ubuntu 22.04.0 or 22.04.1 installation
media.
This has also been observed on other HPE servers.
Resolution
Completely run the installation from VSP NOT the graphical console:
After booting the Ubuntu 22.04 installation media, press "e" on the grub
bootloader screen.
Add the following kernel command line parameter to the Linux line, after the
three dashes "---"
initcall_blacklist=sysfb_init
module_blacklist=ipmi_ssif
Press ctrl-X to boot into the installer and continue the installation at the
following screen:
