On HPE Rack and Tower platforms configured with any of the HPE network adapters with firmware combo image v8.55.27 (or prior) listed in the Scope section below; the network adapters may experience a link down condition on all ports, which is not corrected after a reboot or power-cycle of the server. Removal of power from the server may be required to recover from this condition. The link down condition on all ports is a result of an issue identified within the management firmware of the affected HPE network adapters. This condition in the management firmware of the network adapter results in a loss or interruption of PMCI communication with the network adapter, causing a link down state for all of the ports connected to the network adapter. The PMCI/MCTP error conditions can be found logged in the Active Health System (AHS) Logs for an affected server: Note: The EIDs noted in the error messages below are assigned to the affected network adapter: Informational,566,296480,0x45,PCIe VDM Driver,0x08,PCIe MCTP Error Msg,Engineering, ,xx/xx/xxxx xx:xx:xx,src/dvrpcievdm_service.c(2232): [EID 41] [37:00] MCTP MSG: 7E 10 3C 8F, No Response (Timeout) Caution,566,296481,0x38,PMCI Data,0x13,PMCI Error Msg, ,Engineering, ,xx/xx/xxxx xx:xx:xx,src/pmci_mctp.c(3619): [EID 41] ADDRESS: 3700, (dvrpcievdm_client_transaction) dvrpcievdm_rc: 8, consecutive_fails: 0, initialization_fails: 0 Critical,566,296490,0x38,PMCI Data,0x13,PMCI Error Msg, ,Engineering, ,xx/xx/xxxx xx:xx:xx,src/pmci.c(725): (OV DCi Error) [EID 81] [STATE: 132], retval: -2, iLO_internal_err: 5
