When attempting to install the HPE Intel iavf Drivers for Linux 4.4.2.1 (or Later) or
HPE Intel i40e Drivers for Linux 2.19.3 (or Later), the driver does not install and
displays the symbol dependency message below:
#rpm -ivh hp-iavf-kmo-default-4.4.2.1_k5.3.18_57-1.sles15sp3.x86_64.rpm
error: Failed dependencies:
hpe-auxiliary-kmp-default is needed by hp-iavf-kmo-default-4.4.2.1_k5.3.18_57-1.sles15sp3.x86_64
ksym(default:__auxiliary_device_add) = a8a9f579 is needed by hp-iavf-kmo-default-4.4.2.1_k5.3.18_57-1.sles15sp3.x86_64
ksym(default:auxiliary_device_init) = e30264ff is needed by
hp-iavf-kmo-default-4.4.2.1_k5.3.18_57-1.sles15sp3.x86_64
Scope
Any HPE system attempting to install the HPE Intel iavf Drivers for Linux 4.4.2.1 (or
later) or HPE Intel i40e Drivers for Linux 2.19.3 (or later) and running either of the
following:
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 12 SP5
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 15 SP3
The following are not affected because the kernel already supports the required
auxiliary symbol:
Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.5 (or later)
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 15 SP4 (or later)
Resolution
To resolve this issue, install the required HPE auxiliary driver before installing the
HPE Intel iavf Drivers for Linux 4.4.2.1 (or Later) or HPE Intel i40e Drivers for Linux
2.19.3 (or Later).
