An HPE Apollo 4200 Gen10 Plus System Storage Controller may not be detected during boot or after OS deployment. When this occurs, the controller will not be displayed in HPE Integrated Lights-Out 5 (iLO 5). The highlighted examples below show a system where the Smart Array controllers are properly detected at system boot. If either one or both of these are missing from the output below, the system did not detect the controller. Note that each system may have a different set of controllers, depending on the server configuration.

If the Storage controller is not detected, update firmware for the HPE Integrated Lights-Out 5 (iLO), the System ROM, and the Storage controller firmware to the following versions (or newer): HPE Integrated Lights-Out 5 (iLO 5) to version 2.55 System ROM U50 to version 1.56(11/29/2021) Smart Array P932i-p or Smart Array P816i-a to version 03.01.04.072 Smart Array NS204i-p Gen10+ to version 1.0.14.1055 Smart Array P408i-p SR Gen10 to version 4.11 To download the above firmware(or later), perform the following steps: Click the following link: Hewlett Packard Enterprise Support Center Click the "Sign in" icon located in the top-right side of the web page, and click the option "Sign in". Sign in to HPE Support Center (HPESC): For HPE authorized Service Providers: Enter the HPE Passport. For HPE Employees or Contractors: Click the "HPE employee sign in" hyperlink. Enter a product name (e.g., "Apollo 4200") in the text search field and wait for a list of Suggested Products to display. From the Suggested Products list displayed, identify the desired product and select it. The page should refresh to display the "DRIVERS AND SOFTWARE" tab and the components that support the selected product. From the "DRIVERS AND SOFTWARE" expandable filter menus on the left side of the page: Select the Software Type - (insert the specific filter here, e.g. "Software (Authorization Required)") Locate and select the specific firmware component (or later). Note: To ensure that you have selected the latest version of the firmware/driver, click the Revision History tab to check if a new version of the firmware/driver is available.
