IMPORTANT : The process provided in the Resolution is recommended to prevent data loss from occurring. Neglecting to perform the recommended action and not performing the recommended resolution could result in the potential for subsequent errors to occur. On any of the HPE Gen10 Plus servers mentioned in the Scope section below, the RAID volumes will be lost when using the "Restore Default Manufacturing Settings" feature. This can be initiated by pressing F9 during POST, selecting System Configuration under the System Utilities menu > BIOS/Platform Configuration (RBSU) > System Default Options, and then changing the Restore Default Manufacturing Setting option to "Yes, restore the default settings." This can also be invoked from the REST interface by changing the RestoreManufacturingDefaults attribute to Yes. When RAID controllers are attached to the system and this feature is used, the RAID controller resets its configuration, including the Logical Drive definitions for all attached drives.
Any of the following servers are affected by this issue: HPE ProLiant DL360 Gen10 Plus Server. HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen10 Plus Server. HPE Synergy 480 Gen10 Plus Compute Module. This issue has been corrected for the following servers with System ROM version 1.58 (or later): HPE ProLiant DL360 Gen10 Plus server. HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen10 Plus server. HPE Synergy 480 Gen10 Plus Compute Module. HPE ProLiant DL110 Gen10 Plus server. And System ROM 2.56 (or later) for the following servers: HPE ProLiant DL325 Gen10 Plus server. From the Suggested Products list displayed, identify the desired product and select it. 3.The page should refresh to display the "DRIVERS AND SOFTWARE" tab and the components that support the selected product. From the "DRIVERS AND SOFTWARE" expandable filter menus on the left side of the page: -Select the Software Type "BIOS" -Select the Subtype "System ROM" -For further filtering if needed select the specific Operating System from the Operating Environment Type. 4.Locate and select the System ROM. For more important information, review the Release Notes tab. 5.Click Download. Workaround Before using the Restore Default Manufacturing Settings feature, power off the system. Disconnect all storage media configured in a hardware RAID array. This may be accomplished by disconnecting the drives from the backplane (while leaving the drives installed in the drive bay), disconnecting the SAS/SATA cables, or in the case of the NS204i array controller, removing the controller from the server. Power on the server. Select the Restore Default Manufacturing Settings from RBSU. The server will most likely reboot during POST one or more times. Allow the server to reboot as often as necessary until it completes POST and attempts to find a bootable device. Power off the server. Remove the power cord or, if the system is a Synergy system, remove the compute module from the Synergy frame. Reconnect the hard drives and reinstall any NS204i array controllers. Power on the server and verify that the server can boot the operating system. OR If there is not a need to modify UEFI Secure Boot Setting or the Boot Order, use instead the "Restore Default System Settings" in RBSU or do a REST patch operation on the "RestoreDefaults" BIOS Attribute by setting it to Yes. This operation will NOT affect the settings on RAID controllers or the logical drive definitions.
