The minimum MLNX-OS version required for the "Revision B" of Mellanox InfiniBand HDR 40-port QSFP56 Managed Back to Front Airflow Switches (Part Number P06249-B21) to function properly is version 3.10.1000.
If MLNX-OS version on a Revision B switch is downgraded to any version lower than 3.10.1000, the functionality of the switch will be affected, and the switch configuration will reset to the default configuration. This only occurs when the MLNX-OS is downgraded to versions lower than the minimum version.
Scope
Any "Revision B (RevB)" of Mellanox InfiniBand HDR 40-port QSFP56 Managed Back to Front Airflow Switches (Part number: P06249-B21).
Note:
Only Rev B switches are affected by this issue.
Resolution
Do not downgrade MLNX-OS to any version lower than the minimum version 3.10.1000 on Rev B HDR Managed switches.
Log into the HDR Managed switch and run the command "show inventory" to check the revision of the switch.

Note:
Under "HW Rev," it will list whether the switch is RevB or RevA.
Important information:
For new managed switch orders based on HPE Part Number P06249-B21, customers will be receiving Rev B1 switch only with the minimum MLNX-OS version pre-installed.
For switch replacements in existing install base, HPE services will ensure that a matching older revision (Rev A) switch is provided as a replacement based on the Spare Part Number P08357-001.
